Gemini Club – Future Tidings
Genre: indie, electronic, dance
From their Facebook Biography: “Gemini Club is Dan Brunelle, Tom Gavin and Gordon Bramli, a three-piece indie-electronic dance band from Chicago, Illinois. Their unique live shows have been tearing up the scene for the last two years. Far from the conventional live performance, Gemini Club have a specially designed rig that allows for on-the-fly remixing of their own songs meaning each Gemini Club show is different from the last. This has resulted in them being asked to the support the likes of Chromeo, A-Trak, Two Door Cinema Club, Who-Made-Who, Dj Falcon and Chateau Marmont.”

Cabeza De Vinil – Selftitled

Cabeza De Vinil is a rock band from San Jose, Costa Rica. Their motto is “trabajamos por su rock“, which my limited Spanish and Google Translate into ‘we work for your rock’.

Sung Park – Upcoming 2012 Release
Genre: acoustic, blues, funk, rock soul
From his Bandcamp page: “Seattle singer-songwriter Sung Park plays a blues and soul infused blend of acoustic rock. Heavily influenced by singers such as Bill Withers and Al Green, he combines his own unique vocal styling with intricate and groove oriented guitar, along with smart, sarcastic lyrics that often tell demented stories.”

Prussia – Poor English, Pt. 1

Prussia is a five man band from Detroit, Michigan. This is the first part of Prussia’s three part album Poor English, released in August. Parts two and three, released in September and October respectively, are available on Bandcamp.

Fer Isella – Doña Furia Gaucha
Genre: alternative, jazz, folklore, instrumental, post-rock
From his homepage: “Fer Isella is a serial cultural entrepreneur, music producer, composer, pianist and a digital music strategist for marketing, online distribution, 2.0 communication and digital development of the music industry. After producing albums for Sony Music (+2 million records sold and +15 platinum albums), Fer was awarded by the U.S. Department of State with a full Fulbright Scholarship to study at Berklee College of Music, Boston. In 1999 was awarded with the “Clare Fischer Award” for composer of the year, then earning a cum laude diploma in Jazz Composition. From their Homepage Biography: “Labirinto develops sounds, timbres and dynamics that are all equally blended, avoiding the predominance of a unique sound source. Their harmonics constructions – done by guitars, bass and drums, followed by analogic and digital synths, cello, violin, piano e other instruments – prioritize the emotions aroused by running through the whole aesthetic labyrinth.
Labirinto is acknowledged as a pioneer in developing its musical style in Brazil. Their references are based on post-rock, progressive rock, experimentalism, minimalism, classical and Brazilian popular music. After some years of career consolidation, the band is one of the most respected and renowned in the indie scene, getting good reviews from the public and the press.”
