When this happens, you really need a quick way to collect and annotate a bunch of screenshots so that you can show them exactly how it’s done and they can keep the email saved for the next time they forget how it’s done.
Clarify is the newest application for Mac to tackle this task. It allows users to take screenshots, annotate the image and collate the images into a cohesive document to show how a process works. In short, it’s exactly what you need to show your relatives and workmates exactly how to get those elusive computer tasks accomplished.

Installing the application just involves downloading and opening the .dmg file and dragging the Clarify application to the Applications folder.
What Clarify Does
Clarify is essentially a screen capture tool, an image manipulation tool and a text editor all in one. This means you can take the screenshots, annotate them and highlight things all in one program.
There are many useful features which make it more powerful than their online counterpart, Screensteps.me, such as the ability to set a delayed screenshot. This could be handy if you need to set up something for the screenshot that involves a mouse movement or is only on-screen temporarily.
The annotation tools include arrows, rectangles, ovals, highlights, sequencing, text annotations and blurring. This makes it very easy to notate the screenshot and blur out any private information quickly.
Images can be cropped or framed for definition, meaning your images can look professional in no time.
Using Clarify
When you open Clarify you’ll see a welcome screen, plus an icon will appear in your menu bar. Either of these options can be used to take screenshots for your documents.
If you take a screenshot using the menubar it will automatically open a new document or add the screenshot to the current document if you have one open already.
Uploading Your Documentation
Clarify allows you to upload your documentation to the free Screensteps.me service or to send by email. If you upload to Screensteps.me, you can then share your documentation with your friends using a simple URL.
